Operator Education & Training

Our partners have developed a new approach for training operators and young engineers in Chemical Engineering Basics called Inprocess Training for Operators (ITOP). In this approach, we are combining process model based exercises with class-room training. This approach motivates the attendees to experience the theory through process model based hands-on exercises. This approach has been proven to give superior training results when compared with standard class room training.
The ITOP Training Programme is based on the following three pillars:
- Simulation Environment: Flexible environment based on standard simulation tools (HYSYS or UNISIM) and a Human Machine Interface (HMI), which can be adapted to specific client's needs
- Training Activities: Inprocess has developed training exercises and can provide training instructors, with a long experience of training in the O&G, Refining or Chemical industry. The training content and schedule can be adjusted to satisfy specific customer needs.
- Documentation: The documentation has been developed to explain the theoretical content and to explain the exercises. It could be customized in agreement with the customer.
Practical Exercise Modules are available for the following subjects :
- Centrifugal Pumps
- Centrifugal Compressor
- Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers
- Air Coolers
- Plate-Fin Heat Exchangers
- 2 liquid phases separation
- Liquid-Liquid extraction
- Absorption Column
- Basic Distillation
- Multi-Component Distillation Column
- CSTR with multiple reactions
- PFR with Multiple Reactions
- Process Control/li>
Theoretical training material is available to support all of these exercises. A training agenda based on theory and practical modules can be developed based on the subjects selected by the client and the time available for theory. The theoretical training material covers general process engineering theory (like fluid flow or mass transfer) as well as unit operations specific information (like air coolers or distillation column control).
